The Latest Technology
At Chesney Dentistry we are constantly working to stay abreast of the latest technologies and developments in order to provide our patients with the best dental care possible. We evaluate advances in technique and equipment. Our goal is not only to provide comfort, but to offer the best course of treatment for our patients.
CEREC is a superior method of creating precisely-designed, color-matched and highly durable ceramic restorations right in our office. CEREC allows you to avoid impression materials, temporaries and multiple dental appointments usually associated with cosmetic dentistry cases.
CEREC delivers top quality restorations in one visit, so you can get back to your busy life. Here’s what makes CEREC so special:
- Single visit convenience — no temporaries
- No uncomfortable impression trays
- Beautiful esthetics — color-matched ceramic
- Enamel-like materials — natural look and feel
- Clinically proven — millions of successful restorations worldwide
A CEREC restoration isn’t just convenient, it is also healthy. Years ago, dentists could only use amalgam, gold and other metals to fix decayed and damaged teeth. With CEREC, we can use strong, tooth colored ceramic materials to restore your teeth to their natural strength and beauty. Also, CEREC is chemically bonded to your tooth, so we can save as much healthy tooth tissue as possible, while providing you with a restoration that strengthens your tooth.
CEREC — One-visit Dentistry
Dr. Chesney uses dental loupes to magnify his vision 2.5 times in order to perform the highest quality dentistry possible and see things that would escape the naked eye.
Computers are used in the entire office to help achieve a nearly paperless office. This helps with patient education, immediate retrieval of patient charts and quick scheduling from any room in the office.
Digital x-rays are quickly becoming the standard in dental imaging. Digital x-rays allow the doctor to get a much better view of your teeth and potential dental conditions. The digital imaging software allows the doctor to see a number of different views of the tooth to gain a better understanding of the proper course of management. Digital x-rays provide a great benefit to the patient. Not only are they an excellent diagnostic tool, but they decrease radiation to the patient by over 80%.
Dr. Chesney also uses a digital panoramic x-ray to capture the whole mouth on one picture to observe the wisdom teeth, eruption patterns and other possible abnormalities.

Intraoral cameras are an excellent means of allowing the patient to view potential dental conditions in their own mouth. This digital image can be utilized to provide information to insurances and other doctors if necessary.
Sterilization is first and foremost in Dr. Chesney’s office. We have far exceeded safety guidelines with our new state of the art equipment like the thermal disinfector and autoclave.
Of course all surfaces in each operatory are properly disinfected between procedures. We also use a separate water source for each operatory that is disinfected with each refill. We want you to rest assured that that providing you with the most sterile environment is a high priority at Chesney Dentistry.
